He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Rev. Courtland Cox and Edith "Susie" Denham Cox; his son Todd Cox of Michigan; his siblings, Marilyn Teeters of Jacksonville, Joyce Chaney (Benji) of Jacksonville, Charlotte "Babe" Rodgers of Bogota, TX and Lyndall "Ben" Cox (Dallas Lawrence) of Carrollton; and his daughter Sherry Cox Salter. He was also cherished by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Jacksonville Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
