Anna Bartels Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Anna Bartels (Jerseyville, Illinois). Anna, born on June 21, 1933, passed away on October 4, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Krause and Edna Krause (Watts); her former spouse Gene Donaldson; her husband Delbert Dale Bartels; her son Dale Louis Bartels; her granddaughter Christin Bowen; her siblings, Robert Krause and Betty; and her brothers-in-law, Pat McNabb and Robert Egelhoff.

She is survived by: her children, Deana Bowen (Steve) of Hartselle, Bradley Bartels (Stacey) of Jerseyville, Tim Bartels (Beth) of Jerseyville and Rick Bartels (Jody) of Pierre; her daughter-in-law Marti Bartels of St. Louis, MO.; her sister Roberta Egelhoff of Jerseyville; her sister-in-law Melba Krause of Paducah, Kentucky; and her grandchildren, Tara Bowen, Lauren Fagerman (Daniel), Michael Bartels (Monica), Nicholas Bartels (Katelyn), Evan Bartels, Molly Suttles (Ethan), Samuel Bartels, Jenifer Garcia (Ivan), Amelia Garcia (Johnny), Kathy Johnson, Jacob Bartels (Toni), Kimberly Malone (Devin) and Chandley Barnett (Justin). She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (1200 S Liberty St, Jerseyville, IL 62052). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at the Kane Cemetery (332 E Kane Rd, Kane, IL 62054).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jerseyville Methodist Church or to the Jersey Community Hospital Foundation.
