He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Howard (Perdun); his brother Loren Howard of Jerseyville; his parents-in-law, Jimmie and Betty Rogers; and his sisters-in-law, Cynthia Rogers and Susan Woolsey (Lonnie).
He is survived by: his wife Carol Howard of Jerseyville; his children, Nathan Howard (Allison) of Alton, Jennifer Fischer (Craig) of Jerseyville, Christopher Howard of Jerseyville and Brendan Howard (Christine Sawyer) of Jerseyville; his grandchildren, Jayda Bodenbach, Madalyn Bodenbach, Draven Howard, Roman Howard and Edison Howard; and his brothers, Michael Howard of Carrollton and Jeff Howard (Kelly) of Winchester.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home (1308 IL-109, Jerseyville, IL 62052). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at the Kane Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family, who plan to place a bench at the park in Bruce's honor.
