We announce the death of Doris Laird of Jerseyville, Illinois, who passed away on July 2, 2026, at the age of 100. Doris will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Doris will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Doris will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Doris’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She is survived by: her husband Paul E. Laird of Laird's Laundromat; her daughters, Pamela (Ronald Gowin), Janye Blivin of Durham and Jill Cash (James Sheridan); and her grandchildren, Nannette, Holly, Christopher, Millicent, Matthew, Kaitlin and Carsen. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be given to Bethel Baptist Church, Riverbend Humane Society, or to Hospice of Southern Illinois in care of Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, who was entrusted with the arrangements.
