He was predeceased by : his parents, George W Bowers and Beulah Bowers (Cope); his siblings, Paul Bowers (Eileen), Kenneth Bowers (Dorothy), George Bowers (Delma), Randy Bowers (Pat), Charles Bowers (Doris), Mildred Gross (Claude), Helen Kinsey (Bill), Emma Dugger (Glenn), Lois Dugger (Loren) and Lela Mae; his father-in-law Melvin Wiegand (Evelyn); and his sister-in-law Vicki Wiegand.

He is survived by : his wife Marilyn Wiegand; his children, Sherilyn Imboden-Holland (Mike) of Hardin and Bruce Bowers of Nampa, ID; and his grandchildren, Ryan Turner of Jerseyville and Madison Bowers.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his church, 1st Baptist Church.
