He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Williams and Ruby Williams (Lyles); his grandparents, Harry, Edna Lyles and Beulah Rogers; his siblings, Janet Williams, Don Williams and Maurice "M. B." Williams; and his father-in-law William Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Williams of Jerseyville; his children, Gil Williams, Jr. (Andrea Emmons) of Carrollton and Amy; his son-in-law Mike Henson of Carrollton; his grandchildren, Seth Henson, Hope Henson, Olivia Henson, Paige Henson, Eric Williams and Makayla Constable; his great grandchildren, Shaylee and Arthur; his brothers, Merle Williams of Auburn and Dennis Williams (Vicki) of Jerseyville; his mother-in-law Ida Lewis of Jerseyville; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Williams of Carrollton, David Lewis (Judy) of Jerseyville, John Lewis of Fieldon and Don Lewis of Eldred.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home (1308 IL-109, Jerseyville, IL 62052). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at the Oak Grove Cemetery (801 E Spruce St, Jerseyville, IL 62052).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to assist in the placement of a monument at Gil's gravesite.
