He was predeceased by: his parents, Orbis Stephens and Ella May Stephens (Whitmire). He is survived by: his wife Connie Short of Eldred; his children, Amber (Robert Mangrum), Andrew (Jamie Stephens), Aileen (Louie Lodes) and Angie Stephens Bailey (Mike Laurent) of South Roxana; his siblings, Reva Vaughn (Jimmy) of Dyersburg and Loren Stephens (Charlotte) of Dyersburg; his father-in-law Russ Short of Marion; his sisters-in-law, Russann Shields (Darryl) of Fieldon and Linda Miriani (Mark) of Glen Carbon; his brother Ernest Stephens; his mother-in-law Lois Pruett; and his sister-in-law Ellen Short (Robert Scroggins). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
