He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert E. Varble and Bessie V. Varble (Wyatt); his siblings, Benny Varble, Sheila Alred and Iris Gerber; and his parents-in-law, George and Margaret Gehlhausen.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Varble of Carrollton; his children, Lori Gilbert (Bruce) of Greenfield and Robert Varble (William Thrift) of Tampa, Florida; his grandchildren, Allison Knox (Brenden) of Jerseyville, Madison Gilbert of Greenfield and Tristen Smith (Dakota) of Roodhouse; and his sister Melody VanWinkle of White Hall. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the St. John's Catholic School Building Fund.
