Phyllis Spurgeon Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 26, 2025, at the age of 86, Phyllis Spurgeon of Jerseyville, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert F. Krueger and Freda I. Krueger (Hamilton); her former husband Roy Long, Jr.; and her sisters, Marcella McCallister and Alberta Krueger.
She is survived by: her husband Henry R. Spurgeon; her stepchildren, Brian Spurgeon (Robin) of Daytona Beach, FL and Patricia Stroh (Bruce) of O'Fallon, MO; her stepgrandchildren, Andrea Siecinski (Nate) of Forsell, MO, Reed Spurgeon of Tampa Bay, FL, Wyatt Spurgeon (Laura) of Springfield, MO and Bella Stroh of O'Fallon, MO; and her siblings, Donald Krueger of Waterloo, IL, Karen Krueger of Jerseyville, IL and Cristal Dehner (Paul) of Jerseyville, IL. She is also survived by three step great grandchildren; and her nieces & nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the First Baptist Church (1200 Valmeyer Rd, Columbia, IL 62236). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Valley View Cemetery (1564 Lewis Rd, Edwardsville, IL 62025).
The family suggests memorials to BJC Hospice.
