He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smith and Bertha Smith (Behrens); and his siblings, Jane Pohlman (Tepen), Phillip and Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores Smith (Vatole) of Matthew's Catholic Church; his sons, Paul Smith (Kristi) of Bethalto and Kary Smith (Lori) of Elsah, Illinois; his grandchildren, Jordan Gajewski (Joe) of Chicago, Joshua McEuen of Elsah, Dylan Smith of Godfrey, Andrew Fennewald (Hannah) of Godfrey, Dillon Fennewald of Bethalto, Illinois. and Brendon Smith of Bethalto, Illinois.; his great grandchildren, Camryn Eileen Konrath, Mackenzie Gajewski, Siena Fennewald and Archie Mac Fennewald; and his nieces, Karen Droege (Richard) and Cynthia Heffington (Bill).
Memorials may be given to Migratory Waterfowl Hunters, Inc., in care of the funeral home.
