He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred E. Widman and Ruth M. Widman (Bastien); his brother Gary Widman; his parents-in-law, John and Louise Hessel; his sister-in-law Brenda Hessel; his nieces, Katie White and Kathy Brutton; and his cousin Danny Hessel.
He is survived by: his wife LaNae Hessel; his children, Travis Widman (Kim), Daniel Widman (Joanna) of Godfrey and Meaghan Blackorby (Parker) of Godfrey; his grandchildren, Mason, Abigail, Hana and Harrison Widman; his siblings, Sandy Meyer (Collin) of Lakeland, FL, Kathy Lewis of Godfrey and Keith Widman of Springfield; his sister-in-law Karen Widman of Farmers City; his stepmother Linda Widman of Fort Myers, FL; and his brothers, John Hessel (Barb) of St. Louis, MO, James Hessel (Denise) of Alton and Rolla Hessel (Debbie) of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to Hand Up Housing or Children's Advocacy Center of Illinois-Jersey County Chapter.
