It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Michael Key Sr. of Johnston City, Illinois, who passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wesley and Jessie Mae Key (Travelstead); and his sisters, Joann and Marsha. He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Key (Sheila) of Johnston City and Jamie Thomas (Chris) of Johnston City; and his grandchildren, James Key (Bailey) of Johnston City, Jenni Cobb (Brandon) of Pittsburg, Roger Melvin (Bobbie) of Elkville, Dalton Key (Molly) of West Frankfort and Lexie Thomas (Kaleb) of Benton. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Williams Prairie Cemetery.
