He was predeceased by: his mother Martha Kathleen Leonard; his stepfather Dewey; his father Loren Monroe Chamness; his parents-in-law, Audrey Vera Adams and Granville Adams (Leona); his siblings, James Lloyd Chamness and Wanda Kathleen Dalton; his siblings-in-law, Billie Dee Dalton, James, Dennis "Dink" Adams, Christine, Mary and Priscilla Adams; and his nephews, Jimmy and John Adams Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Lynn of Johnston City; his children, Mike (Terra) of Johnston City, Justin (Melanie Moss) of Maryville, IL and Lori Linton (James) of Johnston City; his grandchildren, Tiara Turner (Kurt), Cheylin Chamness (Kaitlyn Garrett), Laci Linton, Samantha Files (Justin Grant), Shelbi Beeding (Dallas), Alyssa Scroggins (Jake), Blake Moss, Audri Linton (Michael Doebber), Brett Moss, Jack Chamness (Breanna Parker), Michael Wiese and Joshua Wiese; his great grandchildren, Tinslee, Kosten Turner, Carter, Kai Keffer, Caralynn, Libby, Henry Grant, Vera, Nora Beeding, Kahner Scroggins and Ryker James Chamness; and his siblings-in-law, Loretta Rentfro, Gene Rentfro, Dave Adams, John Adams (Patty Kendrick) and Charlene Adams.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home (211 W Broadway Blvd, Johnston City, IL 62951). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to one of the three: Marion VA Community Living Center, JC Toto Town Dog Park or JC Manna Mission.
