He was predeceased by: his father Clarence William "Bill" Aydt; his aunt Elsie Martin; his significant other Becky; and his pet Neko. He is survived by: his mother Bernice Aydt; his siblings, Anita Koontz (Doug) of Belleville, Janet Witteried (Pete) of Wildwood, Cynthia Bowling (Vince) of Herrin and Steven Aydt of Belleville; his uncle Jim Martin of Murphysboro; and his nephews, Matthew Bowling (Danielle), Zachary Bowling, Anthony Bowling, Jeremy Koontz (Cara) and Andrew Koontz. He is also survived by two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Siu Newman Center (715 S Washington St, Carbondale, IL 62901). Visitation was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (1377 County Rd 25 E, Enfield, IL 62835). A Mass was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at the St. Clement of Rome Catholic Cemetery.
