He was predeceased by: his parents, Wathan Brayfield and Lucy Jeanette Brayfield (Milam); and his sister Lillian Helwig. He is survived by: his spouse Fortune Brayfield (Phelps); his children, William "Billy" H. Brayfield (Amber) of Benton and Kelly Wilson (Matt) of Tamms, Illinois; his grandchildren, Eldon, Ella, Elsie and Milam; and his siblings-in-law, Becky Phelps, Kate Phelps, Velta Phelps, Gean Phelps (Ellie), Tim Phelps (Lora) and David Phelps (Erin).
