We announce the death of Betty J. Poole of Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 103. Betty will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Earl L. Poole; and her parents, Paul Booklund and Edna Booklund (Boles). She is survived by: her children, Greg Poole (Barbara) and Renee Adams (Richard); her grandchildren, Lisa Czurylo (Douglas), Erica Nessen (Cory), Scott Adams (Denise), Lauren Hart (Justin), Valerie Lynch (Peter) and Kelly Zelko (Michael); and her great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Brandon, Madison Czurylo, Connor, Payton Nessen, Madalyn Smart, Margaret Adams, Kelly Slucki, Eleanor Lynch and Christopher Zelko.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home (1500 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60435). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church (706 N Broadway St, Joliet, IL 60435). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Resurrection Cemetery (200 W Romeo Rd, Romeoville, IL 60446).
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Friends of Sunny Hill or Morning Star Mission would be appreciated.
