He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Hurst and Ruby Hurst (Mehner); and his brother Randy Hurst. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Lisa and John (Carrie); his grandchildren, Nick, Annika and Riley; his brother Dale (Tina); his uncles, Paul (Judy) and Henry; and his pet Mittens. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the St Joseph Catholic Cemetery (1500 N Raynor Ave, Joliet, IL 60435).
