Daniel P. Prieboy Obituary

In loving memory of Daniel P. Prieboy (Joliet, Illinois), who departed this world on June 27, 2025 at the age of 60. Daniel leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Prieboy (Mibs) and Sylvia Prieboy; his sister Lori Blish; and his brother-in-law Pat Quigley. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Prieboy (Jovanovich); his sons, Eliya (Abriya), Theodore (Kenna) and Matthew; his siblings, Steve (Candie), Donald (Terry), John (Marsha), Mark (Kathy) and Chrissy (Donnie); and his in-laws, Darlene, Radovan "Chief" Jovanovich, Alex (Sam) and Chrissy (Craig).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tezak's Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 11:30 AM. The lying in state will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Saint George Serbian Orthodox (300 Stryker Ave, Joliet, IL 60436).

Contributions to the family are welcome and will be used for a future remembrance of Dan.

“Saddened to hear the news of Danny's passing. My sincere condolences to the family. I was fortunate to have been Dan's basketball coach for three years at Joliet Central...one year on the soph. team and then two years on the varsity after I became the head coach. He was a great shooter, strong competitor and a great teammate. Can still hear the echoes from the student section of "White boy! White boy!" in the JTC gym after he drained another jump shot! RIP Danny!”
