He is survived by: his father Erwin Groenendal (Dorothy); his brother Steven Groenendal (Daphne); his nieces, Valerie Palumbo (Frank) and Sarah Chalekian (Bryan); his nephew Nicholas Rees; and his great-nieces, Lia, Jaelyn, Dezi, Izabella and Josephine.
