It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Fischer of Joliet, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sandrina Cassettari and Anselmo Cassettari. She is survived by: her husband John Fischer (Bradner Smith); her children, Judy Cole (Tom) of Joliet and Bill Fischer (Rachel) of Oak Lawn; her grandchildren, Laura Kriz (Zach), Jeffrey Cole, Sarah Slowik (Grant) and Michael Fischer; and her great grandchildren, Lily Kriz, Kenzie Kriz, Olivia Slowik and Westley Slowik.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Queen of Apostles Catholic Church (18 Woodlawn Ave, Joliet, IL 60435). An entombment will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery (1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, IL 60162).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name in the form of Masses at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church would be appreciated.
