It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Geraldine R. Thayer of Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Seeley (Rittof) and James Seeley; her son Don Thayer, Jr. (Janet); her husband Don Thayer, Sr. of Bernard's Catholic Church; her stepfather Walter Derlinga; and her siblings, Patricia Bakos (late Joseph), Jim Thayer (Dorie), Gerald Seeley (late Florence) and George Seeley (MaryAnn).
She is survived by: her children, Judy Richards (late Harvey), Wally Thayer (Dawn), Mike Thayer, Dave Thayer (Sue), Peggy Friddle (Rick) and Scott Thayer (Brandi); and her sister Mary (S. F.). She is also survived by several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home (3200 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60431). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (600 Brook Forest Ave, Shorewood, IL 60404).
