He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Lakota Sr. and Helen Lakota; his siblings, Mary and Louis Lakota Jr. (Mary Fran); and his brother-in-law Mike Ludwick.
He is survived by: his cousin Emily; his wife Marge; his children, Kristy Garland (Chip), Greg Lakota (Roberta Marstellar), Bill Lakota (Lori), Karole Lakota-Treese (Erik) and Laurie Lakota-Gudas (Edward); his grandchildren, Brenna (Michael Kraus), Bailey Tyrrell (John), Erik Lakota (Maddy), Lexie, Grace, Lucy, Rose, Stella, Kalina and Lainie; his great grandchild Kayce; his sisters, Barbara "Babs" Ludwick and Karen McDermott (Paul); and his caregivers, Margie and Felicia. He is also survived by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
