He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Birsa and Alice Birsa; his parents-in-law, Henry and Frances Niewinski; his siblings, Edward Birsa Jr. and Marianne; his brother-in-law Peter Vukosovich; his brother Hank; his sister-in-law Shirley Niewinski; and his niece Sandy Schimanski.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane; his children, Kathleen Guglielmucci (Michael), Lisa Hurd (James) and John Birsa Jr. (Debra); his sisters, Dorothy and Ellen; his grandchildren, Michael Guglielmucci (Casey Reilly), Alex Guglielmucci, Austin Guglielmucci, Zachary Hurd (Annabelle Becker) and Haley Hurd (Luke Luchtenburg); his great grandchildren, Caroline and Charlotte Hurd; and his siblings-in-law, Barb, Theresa Doerfler (Bill) and Ray. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
