He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Bolton; his children, Marlene Bolton Abney, Barbara Bolton and Mark Bolton; his stepchildren, Vivian Summers and Sency "Brent" Summers; his brother Bishop R. C. Bolton (Janie) of Alabama; his siblings-in-law, Zattie Mae Thomas and Nathaniel Thomas (Stephanie); and his sisters, Ruby Newell, Willie Jewel McDonald, Daisy Pruitt, Annamerl Jenkins and Schovine Dean Sims.
