He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Lee Carlton and Eva Mae Carlton (Thomas); his brother Thomas R. Carlton; and his daughter Vicki Lynn. He is survived by: his sister Janice Agin (Buck); his wife Susan Carlton (Cullen); his children, Tina Prescott (Jim), John Jay Carlton, Randall Carlton (Rachel), Eva Lore (Mike) and Billy Carlton (Brooke); and his stepchildren, Jennifer McCarthy, Joletta Hyder (Ray), Jerry Bush and Jessica McCarthy (Robin). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
