With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Patricia L. Shawmeker of Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on May 17, 2026 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph McGowan and Anna McGowan; her husband Gary A. Shawmeker; her siblings, Rose, Rita and Bernie; and her stepsiblings, Ronnie and Terry.
She is survived by: her children, Kelly Fortune (Jason), Tammy McGraw (Curly) and Bradley Shawmeker (Lori); her grandchildren, Cailee, Cayden McGraw, Jeremy and Ashley Shawmeker; her siblings-in-law, Barbara Zielke (late Dick), Diane Hogan (late Tom), Paula Spurgeon and Phillip Shawmeker (Karen); and her close friend Jacque Schuck. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
