He was predeceased by: his former wife Kathleen Whitfield Bolden; and his siblings, Frank, Joseph, Edward and June Bolden.

He is survived by: his son Joseph Bolden of Joliet, IL.; his wife Deborah Bolden; his children, Kay Bolden of New Orleans, LA and A. Scott Bolden (Erika) of Washington, DC; his grandchildren, Shayla Grayson of Gulfport, MS, Joshua Bolden of Joliet, IL, Jeremy Bolden (Katie) of Joliet, IL, Karyn Omogbeme (Dennis) of Chicago, IL, McKay Bolden of Richmond, VA, McKenzie Bolden of San Diego, CA and Cameron Bolden of Chicago, IL; his great grandchildren, Ashanti Govan, Kyla, Jacari, Isaiah Bolden, Harlie Jade and Cree Bolden; his children, Justin McLurkin of Joliet, IL and Kimberly Wright (David) of Los Angeles, CA; his grandchildren, Cole Hughes, Elliott, Emerson Wright, Caitlyn and Sydney McLurkin; his sister-in-law Betty Byrd (Billy); his niece Linda (Eric) of Washington; his nephew Eugene 'Geno Bolden; and his cousins, Barbara "Penni" Williams and Sherri Tramel. He is also survived by friends and relatives.
