He was predeceased by: his parents, George Arko and Albertha Arko; and his brothers, Raymond, Bernie, George, Peter, James and Paul.

He is survived by: his wife Gayle; and his siblings, Edwin Arko (Betty) of Aurora, Angeline Soper of Wheaton and Suzanne Doty of Wheaton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Messiah Lutheran Church (40 Houbolt Rd, Joliet, IL 60431). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
