It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas J. Cowfer of Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Thomas has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Cowfer and Pauline Cowfer (Hamburger). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Cowfer (Anselmino); his daughter Patricia "Patty" Fitzgerald (Michael); and his grandchildren, Amanda Cowfer Chavez (Bernice) and Robert Fitzgerald.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel (65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project would be greatly appreciated.
