Valerie M. King Obituary

We announce the death of Valerie M. King of Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 62. Valerie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Patricia Ann (Baity) and Jeffery King; and her brothers, Roger Eddie and Charles James. She is survived by: her son Zhamir Chambers; her siblings, Christine King, Victoria C. King, Jeffery King (Jennifer), Andre King (Jeannine), E. Deirdre Manigo, Albert Brass (Missy) and Farrah Brass; her nieces and nephews, Misha April (William), London Stamps, Sebastian King, Jessica King, Alex Johnson, Isabella King, Christian King, Rachel King, James King, Jeremiah King, Lauryn Manigo, Darlyan Amos (Josh), Kennedi Brass, Tre Brass, Makenzie Brass, Brooklynne Brass, Kylie Brass, Sydney Brass and Sarah Brass; and her great-nephews, Elijah, Ezra Stamps and Julius Amos. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (1404 S Briggs St, Joliet, IL 60433). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
