He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Bryja and Ludwik Bryja; and his siblings, Franciszek Bryja (late Anna), Rozalia Baran (Jan) and Jozef Bryja (Maria).
He is survived by: his wife Anna Bryja; his children, Dariusz Bryja (Elzbieta), Andrzej Bryja (Maria), Roman Bryja (Agata) and Mariusz Bryja (Aneta); and his grandchildren, Natalka, Julcia, Piotrus, Maja, Hania, Karol, Kasia, Ania, Damian and Sebastian. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
