With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Estela L. Castro (Justice, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 9, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Estela departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Estela may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Estela leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her grandson Kevin Barillas; her parents, Maria Teresa and Jesus Castro Gomes; and her siblings, Rene Castro (Celia), Ruben Castro and Esperanza Castro.
She is survived by: her children, Frank Barillas (Amparo) and Estaurdo Castro; her grandchild Ileana Barillas (Guillermo Iruegas); her great grandchild Olivia Iruegas; and her brother Jorge Castro (Rosa). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
