He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Nancy Lee Kranig; his parents, Benjamin F. Kranig and Marie J. Kranig; his children, Lenora Davern Sr. (Joseph) and Eric Kranig (Viktorija); his grandchildren, Joseph Davern Jr., Ashley Olivetti (Alex) and Alexis Davern; his great grandchild Olivia Olivetti; and his brother Raymond Kranig (Ginger).

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 from 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM at the Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium (7861 88th Ave, Justice, IL 60458). A prayer was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 from 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Patricia Church (9040 S 86th Ave, Hickory Hills, IL 60457).
