He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Koerner and Florence Koerner (Sally); his stepfather Roland Grise (Slim); his half-brother Robert Koerner; his stepbrother David Grise; his uncle C. B. Chambers; and his granddaughter-in-law Ashley Nicole.
He is survived by: his wife Frances; his sons, Chris and Curt; his daughters-in-law, Elizabeth and Kim; his grandchildren, Chad (Amanda), Kristen (Kyle), Cory, Joshua (Sarah) and Danielle (Trey); his great grandchildren, Madison, Ethan, Leonidas, Daniel, Mason, Blakely, Juliette and Henry; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Grise and Grace Arnold (John).
In Carl's honor, memorials may be made to College Church.
