He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Margaret "Margi" Mortell (Eberle); his brothers, Wilbur, Robert and Ramon; and his son-in-law Bill Ketcik.
He is survived by: his children, Sue Hebda (Jerry) of Sandy Springs, Judy Ottolin (Mark) of Wheaton, Debbie Davis Olenick (Greg) of Naperville, Nancy Lewis (John) of Chicago, Donna Ketcik of Oak Park, Mike (Tammy) of Jupiter and David (Nan) of Chicago; his nephew Jeff Mortell (Madonna) of Kankakee; and his in-laws, Rita Eberle Cooper (Lynn) of West Lafayette and Bobby Eberle (Susie) of Lafayette, Indiana.. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (428 S Indiana Ave, Kankakee, IL 60901). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials can be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Bishop McNamara School in Kankakee.
