He was predeceased by: his parents, George Fritz and Emma Fritz (Hebekeuser); his wife Patricia DuBois; and his siblings, William Fritz, Francis Fritz and Mardell Spears.

He is survived by: his children, Sue Hoekstra (Alan) of Carlsbad, CA, Linda Fritz (George Bond) of Kankakee and Thomas Fritz (Ed Fikeys) of Frankfort, IL; his siblings, Catherine Lovell of Cincinnati, OH and James "Jimmy" Fritz (Ann Salm-Fritz) of Limestone; his sisters-in-law, Elsie Fritz of Buckingham, IL and Ann Fritz of Kankakee, IL; his grandsons, Kyle Hoekstra (Rachel) and Samuel Hoekstra; and his great grandchild Harper Hoekstra. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
