He was predeceased by: his wife Sadie Caffey; and his siblings, Manuel Caffey, Jr., Grover Caffey, Thelma Caffey and Vivian Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Jones (Aja) of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Sherri Snead (Glen) of Noblesville, April Reed (Perez) of Bourbonnais and Latasha Wilborn (Anthony) of Gretna, Louisiana; his siblings, James Caffey of Cleveland, Mississippi and Lillian Caffey of Kankakee, Illinois; his siblings-in-law, Lee Ana Singleton of Kankakee, Asalee Bird (Jimmy) of Dalton, Betty Dunn (Charles) of Ethel, Hazel Sykes (Charles) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Irvin Taylor of Kankakee, Illinois; and his goddaughter Paris Thompson of Kankakee. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Lax Mortuary (187 S Greenwood Ave, Kankakee, IL 60901). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM.
