It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eric Delaney Johnson (Kankakee, Illinois), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on July 1, 2025, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Minnie Lee Bishop and Walter Johnson; his brother Curtis Bishop; his aunt Bernice; and his uncle Curly Chandler.
He is survived by: his children, Delaney Johnson, Briana Barnes-Mobley (Cornell Mobley), Charles Corbett and Deshell Johnson; his grandchildren, Deshiya Johnson, Delaney Johnson Jr., Demiyah Johnson, Aniylah Barnes, Cornell Mobley Jr. and Deshaun Johnson; his siblings, Larry Gardner, Carol Bishop, Carl Bishop (Valeria) and Walter Bishop (Cynthia); his aunt Mae Vaire; and his girlfriend Victoria (Minor).
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Jones Funeral Home (1055 N Schuyler Ave, Kankakee, IL 60901). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
