He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gianotti and Margaret Gianotti (Cofield); his parents-in-law, Paul and Rose DiSavino; and his brothers-in-law, Leonard DiSavino, Roger Kopac and Phillip Hodak.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Gianotti of Kankakee; his children, Susan Mendell (James) of Kankakee, Joseph Gianotti (Kelly Tremper) of Kankakee and Paul Gianotti (Jessica) of Bourbonnais; his grandchildren, Austin Mendell (Kayla), Allison Langlois (Zachary), Grace Mendell (Grant Wenzelman), Josie Mendell (Austin Joyce), Eliana Gianotti, Jarrod Nicholson (Morgan Johnson) and Evan Frank (Rebecca); his great grandchildren, Vivian, Lilly, Brantley, Brooks, River and Theo; his siblings, Joanne Farlander (William) of Hanapepe, HI, Mary Ann Kopac of Durham, NC, John Gianotti (Darlene) of Countryside, Rosanne Gianotti (Gary Regas) of Kankakee and Sue Hodak of Kankakee; and his cousin Dr. Joseph Meisenbach (Kathleen) of Kankakee. He is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Rose of Lima Chapel (486 W Merchant St, Kankakee, IL 60901).
Memorials may be made to Uplifted Care, Limestone Park District, or St. Rose Chapel.
