With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Finefield of Kankakee, Illinois, who passed away on May 3, 2025 at the age of 59. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Benton Finefield and Mildred Finefield (Coy); and his siblings, Vernon Finefield, Vyetta Harms, Robert Finefield and Patricia Evans.

He is survived by: his significant other Mark Mahoney of Kankakee; his pets, Bennie, Lili and Watson; his brother Tom Finefield (Rhonda) of Bourbonnais; and his sister-in-law Donna Finefield of St. Anne. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Riverside Healthcare Foundation for the Cancer Center, the ALS Association, or the American Cancer Society.
