He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence A. Skelly and Rose Skelly (Lazzara); his wife Barbara Jean Habing; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Habing, Charles Habing, Patrick Habing, Cheryl Skelly, Joan Skelly, Sharon Habing and Maureen Habing.
He is survived by: his children, Ann Berns of Kankakee, David Skelly of Kankakee, Ellen Schmidt (Eric) of Manteno, Matthew Skelly (Megan) of Ottawa and Steven Skelly (Kim) of Manteno; his brother Larry Skelly (Marilyn) of Joliet; his grandchildren, Alex Berns (Aisha), Megan Wilcox (Ronnie), Emilia Skelly, Hannah Skelly, Lucas Schmidt, Heidi Schmidt and Owen Skelly; and his great grandchildren, Magnolia Berns, Charlotte Berns, Articai Berns, Quinn Wilcox and Blake Wilcox. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, St. Patrick Catholic Church, or the American Red Cross.
