He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Merle Orwig and Floradele Orwig (Simpson); and his sisters, Martha Evans, Mildred Kreutzer and Margaret Hill.
He is survived by: his children, Caron Walter (Richard) of Laura, Cheryl Orwig (Jeff Butts) of Taos, Chuck "Chic" III Orwig (Natosha) of Albuquerque, Chris Orwig (Stephanie) of Leawood and Richard Thompson (Debbie) of Columbus. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
