We are sad to announce that, on February 16, 2026, at the age of 86, John Hughes (Kewanee, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, John shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid John farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Ann Hughes; and his siblings, Raymond Hadley Hughes, Julia Helen Watson and Norma Hughes. He is survived by: his brother Clarence "Pete" Hughes; his sons, Peter, Jonathan (Kam), Joseph (Laura) and Samuel (Kathy); and his grandchildren, Zachary, Ian, Hadley, Jacob and Gabriel.
