He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Swearingen and Virginia Swearingen (McKenney); his spouse Merriam E. Piester; his siblings, Sherman, Jack Swearingen, Ruth Ann Swearingen, Sandra Heiman and Doris Roach; his son Robert Swearingen; his great grandchild Kayd Peed; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Swearingen, Bill Heiman and Dennis Roach.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rose Peed (Jim) of Kewanee, Robin Allen (Bruce) of Lexington, IN and Kay Desmond (Chuck) of Byron Center, MI; his grandchildren, Jason Peed (Becky) of Kewanee, Timothy Peed of Kewanee, Eric Peed (Jessica) of Kewanee, Shelley Pfeifer (Derrick) of Verona, IL, Elisha Foster (Eric) of Byron Center, MI, Michael Desmond of Baltimore, MD and Elizabeth Allen of Kewanee; and his sisters, Linda Pembroke, Carol Lange (Glen) and Mary Cantwell (Denny). He is also survived by twenty great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
