He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald L. Murphey and Mary Jane Murphey Sr. (Abbott); and his brother-in-law Thomas DePauw Sr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Heather Reese (Corey) of Kewanee, Candis Murphey-Gradert of Kewanee and Crystal Richardson (Keith) of Kewanee; his grandchildren, Darian Murphey, Tayiah Murphey, Kyra Patterson, Courtney Gunsallus and Irene Hart; his sisters, Kathleen "Louise" Dennison of Kewanee, Peggy DePauw of Kewanee, Sherri Swan of Cascade, IA, Wendy Foster of Kansas City, KS and Tammy VerKruyse (David) of Annawan; and his son Larry Claeys. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Open House (116 E 3rd St, Kewanee, IL 61443).
