Ruth Schmitt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Schmitt of Keyesport, Illinois, who passed away on September 2, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Sautman and Cecelia Sautman (Etter); her spouse Carroll Dean "Smitty" Schmitt; and her siblings, John "Don" Sautman and Marilyn Coers.
She is survived by: her sons, Michael Schmitt (Jeannie) and Mark Schmitt (Kristen); her grandchildren, Madison Schmitt (Peyton), Jonathan Schmitt, Hunter Schmitt and Mason Schmitt; and her siblings-in-law, Della Sautman and Bob Coers. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers and other gifts, the family suggests expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Schmitt to St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Teresa (Marydale) Church, or to the Keyesport Fire Department.
