He is survived by: his children, Charlene Davis (Phillip) of Kilbourne, Myron Mapes (Kristin) of Riverton, IL, Ayron Mapes (Melanie) of Snowflake, AZ, Ryan Mapes (Susan) of Lyndon, IL and Bryan Mapes (Terri) of Havana, IL; his grandchildren, Casey Mapes (Jason), Jacob Mapes, Zachary Mapes (Ashley), Trevor Mapes, Samantha Jensen (Allen), Kirsten Engelkens (Brian), Sarah Mapes, Krysta Mapes-Kemp (Hezekiah), Erica Mapes, Brandon Shooltz (Jamie), Dorrien Mapes and Trystan Davis; his great grandchildren, Bailey, Anna, Noah, Bentley, Mavis, Freyja, Aerith, Atticus, Dezman, Trinity and Naomi; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Mapes.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Southern Baptist Church (5196 N Co Rd 1500E, Kilbourne, IL 62655). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials in Daniel's memory may be given to the church.
