He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Vanderveen and Bernice Vanderveen (Huber); his sister Arlis Bell; and his nephew Christopher Bell. He is survived by: his wife Janice Schaeffer of John's Lutheran Church; his brother Glen Vanderveen (Rebecca) of Havana; and his brother-in-law Randy Bell of Manito.
Memorial donations may be made in Dick's name to St. John's Lutheran Church or Kilbourne Fire Department.
