He was predeceased by: his parents, William Chamness and Betty Chamness (Roberts); and his brothers, Gary, Mike, Sam, Jeff, Greg and Danny Chamness.

He is survived by: his child Damon Chamness (Barbara) of Tovey, IL; his close friend Shelly Orr of Kincaid, IL; his grandchild Meelah Baker of Tovey, IL; and his siblings, Lori Law (David) of Taylorville and Brad Chamness (Tina) of Taylorville.
