She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Lee Newman and Carol Ruppel Newman; her in-laws, Joseph and Patricia Perez; and her sisters-in-law, Patty Murray and Sandy Newman.

She is survived by: her husband Jerome Perez; her sons, Patrick Perez (Kristin) of Sycamore and Jonathan Perez (Bobby) of Springfield; her siblings, Robert Newman of Tallula, IL, Gloria Newman of Florissant, MO and Marsha Panthera (Andy Valles) of Cottage Grove, MN; her grandchildren, Téa LeeAnn, Kieran Nicholas, Trae'Lee Lavaughn and J'Leighona June; and her brothers-in-law, Joe Perez (Deb), Mike Perez (Sheri) and Matt Perez (Stacey).

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Regale Center.

A memorial fund can be given to The Church of St. Mary in Sycamore.
